Ybanez was 16 when he killed his mother in 1998 and is serving life
without parole. He said he was abused by his parents, yet his
defense attorney didn t present evidence of those claims. "Nathan
basically walked into this trial with absolutely no chance of
winning," said Terrence Johnson, Ybanez's new lawyer. Johnson is
trying to get the verdict overturned by challenging Ybanez's trial
defense.
