Christopher Gribble was sentenced to life in prison on March 25, 2011.

Jaimie Cates and her father David sat together in court in 2011. He said in a statement how the case
 had made him relive horrific moments from the attack.

Jaimie Cates, who had to lie still as Gribble plunged a knife into her mothers throat, appeared in court for
the first time to face her killer in 2011.

Jaimie Cates, now 14, survived the 2009 attack that left her mother dead, and she was in court
on April 23, 2013 to hear the attacker's lawyer read his statement.

The victim

Mrs Cates, 42, was horrifically hacked to death in her home by Gribble and Spader
while her daughter watched, pretending to be dead.
