Ralph "Bucky" Phillips is escorted into the Chemung County

pleaded guilty to four counts, including attempted murder, in the
June 10 shooting of Trooper Sean Brown near Elmira during a traffic
stop. Phillips was also expected to plead guilty later in the day to
shooting two other troopers, one fatally, in August near his boyhood
home in Chautauqua County in rural southwestern New York.

following a prior unsuccessful attempt to save his life by amputating
