U.L. Holley, colored, #13306, was sentenced to death for murder in Globe when he went berserk and shot one man and injured one or two others. He had been drinking, entered a saloon to purchase some beer, were told that Negroes were refused service; whereupon, he went out, returning from his home shortly with his gun and embarked on the shooting foray.

Holley went bravely to his death, declining a stay or help from his family and saying that he had run amok and deserved to die. He was executed in the lethal chamber on April 13, 1945.
