decided not to arrest him until a
reward would be offered two days later. Meanwhile he escaped and was
found by police in Oregon.

Since the lifeless body of Marian
Parker was returned to her anguished parents by her kidnapper
and murderer, a crowd of sympathetic men, women and children has
kept a tireless
vigil in front of the Parker residence at 1631 South Wilton Place.

of Justice, in which William Edward
Hickman is on trial.

in Pendleton was
rugged
and muttering, while Los Angeles brought out characters of all ages,
from
every walk of
metropolitan life, flappers and grandmothers, youths and old men.
