Aftermath

87 people, mostly ethnic Hondurans, were killed in the fire at the Happy Land social club, housed
in a condemned building. Cuban refugee Julio Gonzalez, whose former girlfriend was employed
at the club, was later arrested for having set the fire and convicted of arson and murder.
