BUSSELL, CHARLES, DOB 3-11-55, was sentenced to death January 17, 1992 in Christian County for the murder and robbery of an elderly Hopkinsville woman.

The woman, Sue Lail of Christian County, had employed Bussell to perform odd jobs around her home. The victim was reported missing December 3, 1990. Her body was not discovered until February 22, 1991. Bussell was arrested April 11, 1991. He was tried and convicted of murder and 1st degree robbery on November 21, 1991.

 
 

This killer beat and strangled an elderly woman to death during a robbery at her home in Christian County in 1990. The victim had multiple rib fractures, a dislocated vertebral disc, and a fractured Adam's apple. Her decomposed corpse had to be identified by dental x-rays.
