86 year old Arthur Stanley
Brown was arrested and ordered to stand trial in Townsville for the
brutal murder of the Mackay sisters, Judith (7) and Susan (5) 29 years
previously.
The photo of Brown and his
wife Charlotte was taken during a break in proceedings from outside the
court house and through a plate glass wall. It was published page 3 of
the Age, Melbourne. All charges against Brown were eventually dropped
due to his deteriorating state of health. He died a year later and
consequently was never found guilty of the murders.
