Thursday, July 11, 2013. Skinner, who was convicted
of plotting to
have her father stabbed to
death when she was just 17 years old was
sentenced again to life in prison without parole. Skinner returned
to court as a result
of a U.S. Supreme Court decision that bars
mandatory no-parole sentences for under-18s
convicted of
first-degree murder. The St. Clair County Circuit Court judge was
free to
give Skinner a shot at
parole but settled again on a
sentence that means she'll
never leave prison.
